Our City Guides is from the point of view of the people we interview. A restaurant cannot be listed in our guides unless it is recommended by one of the tastemakers we’ve featured. We don’t want you to see the restaurant world through our eyes, but rather through the eyes of your favorite tastemakers in every industry. Why us? Why not them?

Pine & Crane

Recommended By: Zelda Williams (Actress)

A fast-casual Taiwanese-Chinese restaurant located in the heart of Silver Lake, we love that this restaurant is reinventing what we think of “Chinese” takeaway food. They source almost all of their vegetables from their family farm. Try taking the food to go for a picnic in Sunset Triangle!

Silverlake Ramen

Recommended by: Aubrey Peeples (Actress)

The neighborhood’s inaugural ramen spot gives Eastsiders no reason to brave traffic for some artisanal Japanese noodles. Pick from a wide variety of soup combinations, but you’ll be wise to include the noteworthy pork belly.

Located in an unassuming strip-mall, Saito’s serves up simple, delicious sushi. The fish and rice stand out as highlights with no need for wild sauces and over-the-top ingredients. A casual spot for enjoying a perfect plating of tuna.

The Kitchen

Recommended By: Zelda Williams (Actress)

A truly LA restaurant, everything here is made in house, from pastas to stocks and sodas for cocktails. Their goal is to make comfort food good for you – so it’s obviously a TNP fave. We particularly love their brunch; the baguette French toast is a can’t miss.
