3 Hydrating DIY Face Masks

We all want softer skin, especially when it’s cold and windy out. Add in long work hours and little sleep, and our skin is in need of some tender love and care. That’s why we called upon celebrity facialist Joanna Vargas for three homemade masks to help beautify our winter routine. She seriously delivered with three, not just for your skin but for your lips as well. They’re sure to make your Monday better….

Dry Skin DIY Mask

Honey is great because it is hydrating without risking a breakout. Avocado is amazing because it’s loaded with omega-3 fatty acids and b vitamins which are incredible for your lymphatic system and restoring the skins lipid layer. Mango is loaded with Vitamin C which brightens the skin, and olive oil is a skin softener, an anti-inflammatory and reverses the signs of sun damage.

2 tbsp honey

2 tbsp avocado

2 tbsp olive oil

1 mashed mango

DIY Moisturizing Mask

I have a great DIY at-home mask recipe for dry winter skin. The yogurt is this hydrating mask is an anti-inflammatory with a lactic acid component.  Avocado is something I recommend for any skin type – avocado has lots of B vitamins and fatty acids, so it’s essential to keep the skin hydrated, even in dry winter weather. The honey also hydrates, and will really transform the skin.

1/2 cup yogurt

1/2 avocado

1/4 honey

Leave on the skin for 20 minutes, then rinse.

DIY Hydrating Lip Mask

1 Tsp of coconut oil – Restores the lipid layer to the skin and is also anti-inflammatory

1 Tbsp of honey – Moisturizes and is antibacterial

Massage on and around lips and leave on for 5 minutes.
