3 R&R Things To Do Today

We all are feeling some lethargy and dullness today. Whether it’s our skin, an overtaxed liver or a grumbly stomach, we have a certain need to hit the “refresh” button. Many times this can be cured with a few R&R beauty routines that leave us feeling like we’ve turned over a new leaf.

We rounded up three of our favorites – a facemask, lip mask and body scrub – all of which will leave you feeling like a new person come tomorrow morning. See below for these three DIY beauty routines that we are definitely thankful for today…

The DIY Coconut Oil Lip Mask

Ingredients:

1 Tsp of coconut oil (to restore the lipid layer to the skin and is also anti-inflammatory)

1 Tbsp of honey (moisturizing and antibacterial)

Directions:

Massage on and around lips and leave on for 5 minutes.

DIY Matcha Body Scrub

Ingredients:

1/3 cup coconut oil

1 cup of coconut palm sugar

1 tablespoon of organic matcha powder

1 tsp organic honey

Directions:

Mix all ingredients together and put into a mason jar. Gently scrub all over the body, then rinse in the shower. Should be used 2-3x per week.

Coconut oil helps to soothe and hydrate the skin as it’s loaded with omega 3 fatty acids. It also gets rid of inflammation. Sugar helps to exfoliate the skin without drying it out like salt can. High levels of polyphenols in matcha help to increase skin cell growth. The more collagen production your skin has, the more firm and healthy it will be. Adding a tiny bit of honey helps to make this scrub exfoliate and deeply moisturize at the same time.

Soothing & Depuffing Turmeric Mask: 

Ingredients:

1 tbsp. organic Greek yogurt

1/2 tsp. turmeric

1 tsp. finely chopped parsley.

Directions:

Mix all ingredients together, leave on for 10 minutes. Remove with a warm cloth.
