DIY Turmeric Latte

Turmeric lattes are easily the buzziest health trend of 2016; they seem to have completely taken over our Insta-feeds and are dominating Pinterest boards worldwide. Earlier this week, we brought you our guide to the eight best turmeric lattes in New York, and nothing will help cure our Sunday scaries more than a latte at home right now.

Frankly, we don’t see the point in leaving our beds this morning; Sundays are made for lounging and relaxing. Enter active lifestyle guru and designer Lorna Jane. Lorna’s recipe below for a golden turmeric latte is easy to assemble: Just hop to your grocery store for any missing ingredients, then back to your kitchen to make the quintessential Sunday Scaries drink…

Turmeric, Vanilla and Cardamom Latte
1 tsp ground turmeric
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla bean paste
1/2 tsp ground cardamom
1 1/4 tsp honey
200ml almond milk or coconut
Combine the ground turmeric, vanilla, cardamom and honey in a mug. Add coconut or almond milk to a small saucepan over medium heat and bring to the boil, stirring constantly. Carefully pour over the spices and stir to combine. Alternatively, if you have a coffee machine, heat and froth the milk, then pour over the spice mix. Sprinkle with cardamom and serve.
