3 Amazing Homemade Eye Masks

From Facialist Joanna Vargas

By Thursday, the work week starts to really take a toll on our skin. Getting up early, pounding coffee, long commutes; the stress of the past three days all starts to show up on our face, particularly in our undereye bags. We need a quick fix, without a crazy price-tag or appointment at a spa; because, frankly, who has the time?

We’re turning to our favorite facialist, Joanna Vargas, for a solution. She’s helped us brighten our dull skin and smooth out wrinkles; there’s no one we trust more with the sensitive skin around our eyes. Go ahead, whip up one of her eye masks. In the time it takes to watch an episode of Sex and the City, you’ll be well on your way to looking more awake, even if don’t feel it.

DIY Wrinkle Reducing Eye Mask

1/2 cup blended pineapple

1/2 teaspoon honey

1/2 teaspoon yogurt

Apply to entire eye area for 10 minutes and then rinse with tepid water. This mask hydrates, soothes and reduces wrinkles around the eye area.

DIY Depuffing Eye Mask

1 tablespoon grated potato

1 tablespoon minced cucumber

1/2 cup yogurt

1 minced carrot

1 bunch minced parsley

Mix well and apply to the eye area for 15 minutes. Over this mask, place a steeped and cooled green tea bag on each eye. It helps to depuff, activate the lymphatic system, soothe the area and provide strengthening Vitamin C.

DIY Redness Reducing Mask

¼ Cup Blended Sweet Potato

1 Tablespoon of Aloe

½ Teaspoon of Yogurt

Steeped green tea bag

This mask is great for constricting the blood vessels. It will depuff and soothe the eye area and bring down redness.
