From The Astrotwins
All quiet on the cosmic front? We know better than to think that. But your October monthly horoscope is only a fraction as busy as September’s planetary pandemonium. Here’s what you need to know.
So it’s October, which means that we all survived September, a non-stop stream of planetary fast pitches: Eclipses! Mercury retrograde! Jupiter’s sign change from Virgo to Libra!
There was also the U.S. Presidential debate and Brangelina’s breakup. Oh, and then NASA created panic with a post suggesting that everyone’s zodiac sign has changed (relax, they haven’t!).
If you’re still freaking out that you’re no longer a Libra or a Pisces, or wondering if there’s really a 13th sign called Ophiuchus, we’ve put together some informative posts to debunk this. (Ophi even went on the Today Show to help clear up confusion!)
Bottom line: Ophiuchus is a constellation, but it’s not a zodiac sign. Please, continue reading the same horoscope that you always have!
So what’s ahead in your October horoscope? Well, things get a BIT smoother, as bountiful Jupiter settles into cooperative Libra until October 2017, and the Sun soars through this fair and balanced zodiac sign until October 22. It’s time to partner up, seek out complementary souls and replace chaos with moderation. Mergers could turn official after the 22nd, when the Sun shifts into play-for-keeps Scorpio.
Don your crimson pantsuits: Leadership and strategy rule now, and the cream will rise to the top of the food chain.
Got #goals? Go-getter Mars is in Capricorn from September 27-November 8, our quests turn ambitious. Mars is “exalted” in Capricorn, meaning it’s the red planet’s favorite sign to hang out in. Don your crimson pantsuits: Leadership and strategy rule now, and the cream will rise to the top of the food chain. The October 16 Aries full moon—the first supermoon of the season!—will fan the flames of this competitive and ambitious energy. Talk about playing to win!
Power struggle alert: Libra and Capricorn are two of the zodiac’s four haughty and alpha cardinal signs. In early October, the Sun and Jupiter, both in Libra, will lock into competitive squares (90-degree angles) with Mars and Pluto, both in Capricorn.
After that, there are a couple more scuffles with Uranus, which is in the cardinal sign of Aries. The Sun will make its annual opposition to Uranus on October 15, igniting volatility and erratic, ego-driven behavior. Sigh…so much for a peaceful October horoscope. Uranus is also at a near-conjunction to the Aries full moon on October 16, so we can expect some BIG personalities (and egos) to erupt out of the blue.
Steer clear of short-fused types and watch your own reactions.
Helpful tip: Dodge the people who trigger you. The same advice applies on October 29, when rash Mars squares off with Uranus. People may act impulsively; from a place of anger or frustration. Steer clear of short-fused types and watch your own reactions. Take extra safety precautions—if you sense something bad is brewing, walk the other way. We don’t mean to alarm anyone, but given the crazy climate we live in these days, it’s better to be safe than sorry.
The only cardinal sign left out of these smackdowns is Cancer—though if you’re a Crab, you may feel this even more intensely as all of these planets tug at your lunar-ruled lifeline. But prepare to make some important adjustments, no matter what zodiac sign you are. Squares and oppositions are all about compromise. Life could feel like a tense U.N. summit at times, so call upon the diplomatic vibes of Libra season.
One last thing: We’ve streamlined the format of our Monthly Horoscopes, in the hopes of making them easier to read. Each month, we grapple with how to present the information (which can be downright encyclopedic!) in a practical and digestible way. Our Love and Money sections are now broken into Opportunity and Challenge Days. Health forecasts are woven into the general overview. Let us know what you think! We can’t guarantee we’ll implement all these changes permanently, but we aim to serve YOU, our loyal and savvy readers.
Here’s to hoping our changes help you use the October monthly horoscope as a stellar guiding tool to navigate your life.
