Peach cobbler is an American summer staple. It’s like apple pie’s less showy cousin, that is equally as delicious. The delectable fruit is only in season from May to July, so the summer months are when it is a peach’s time to shine. And the dessert is surprisingly easy to make, and only requires a few easy steps. Bring this to your next barbecue and we guarantee you will be the most popular guest in attendance.
Expert tip: You can also replace peaches with other types of fruit if you want to make this recipe in the winter, spring or fall – berries are a great replacement option! Peruse below for the perfect peach cobbler recipe.
4 1/2 cups Peaches, peeled and cut into slices
1 cup Sugar
2 teaspoons Lemon Juice
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Pinch of Salt
1 cup Flour
1/2 cup Old Fashioned Oats
1/4 cup Sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
1/2 cup cold Butter, cut into cubes
1 cup Milk
Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a bowl, combine peaches, sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir to mix well. Pour into a greased baking dish.
In a bowl, whisk together flour, oats, sugar, and baking powder. Cut in the cubed butter into the flour mixture so that pea sized pieces are left. Stir in the milk to bring together the dough. Spread over the peach filling in the baking dish.
Bake for 35 to 40 minutes. Filling should be bubbly and the crust should be golden brown on top. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
