How To Be More Active

No surprises here, but the perfect body: it doesn’t exist!  Anyone who has ever lost a little weight or re-sculpted their figure through exercise will tell you that there is always something they are still not satisfied with—a little fleshy bit here, the need for more shape there, a nagging patch of cellulite that won’t go away – the list is endless.  And you know what, who cares! Chasing the perfect body is not only unrealistic, but soul-destroying, and a complete waste of your time. Instead, you should accept yourself for who you are with all of your imperfections while still aiming to keep improving yourself inside and out by living, loving, cooking, laughing, creating, pampering and working out.

 If you ask me self-love is being conscious of one’s own well-being and happiness. This is something that we all deserve to experience because it allows us to pursue the life we want and surround ourselves with people who reflect that love and support. So how do you achieve self-love? For me it’s all about Active Living: Moving your body every day; Nourishing from the inside out; and knowing that it all starts with Believe.

Fall in love with yourself by making Active Living a priority. We’ve all heard the saying ‘when you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life’. Well, this universally celebrated mantra doesn’t just apply to our careers, but to our move routines as well! Find a way to move that floods your brain with endorphins and leaves you in awe of all that your body is capable of.  Maybe your favorite tunes blasted in spin class is your thing, or beating your personal best in CrossFit, or being at one-with-nature while on a hike with your friends.  Making time to move everyday clears our heads from the clutter, relieves stress and gives us endorphins – and endorphins make us happy!

Focus on Nourishing your body by ditching diets and writing your own rules! Food is your friend so choose to support your body with foods that make you feel amazing and complement your lifestyle. Clean eating is a great way to start and is basically just eliminating or reducing all chemicals from the food you eat and ultimately your body. It’s all about nourishing that beautiful body of yours and fueling it with nutritious, wholesome foods. Eating clean doesn’t mean you have to rid yourself of all guilty pleasures. Far from it, because some clean treats are just as good (if not better) than your regular sugar laden indulgences. Last, but definitely not least, let’s talk about Believe. I know without a shadow of a doubt that believing in yourself is the key to loving yourself and moving forward in life. Everything starts with believe! You cannot live a positive life with a negative mind. No matter what you want to achieve, the best thing you can do to start making those big, beautiful dreams a reality is believe in yourself all day every day.

So there you have it! Practice Move Nourish Believe daily to see the difference it can make to how you feel about yourself, but more importantly where it can take you. Be active, make healthy decisions, and live life with a positive mindset. These are the things that make you beautiful – not washboard stomachs or the perfect thigh gap!
