On our most recent stay in Los Angeles, we ventured out of our West Hollywood comfort zone and decided to opt for a change of scenery at the W Los Angeles – West Beverly Hills. Immediately upon arriving we felt an unfamiliar calmness wash over us. The hotel is tucked away next to UCLA in what feels like a much more residential area than we’re used to – and was a welcome change from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan (not to mention the center of West Hollywood). A few notable new potatoes that we found during our stay….
We basically consider this spa ‘old faithful.’ You can stop in for a quick wax or mani-pedi (which we did) or you can get a massage, put your feet up, relax and unwind (which, surprisingly, we also did). It’s no-fuss and an easy and reliable place to get whatever you need done.
The back of the hotel is lined with greenery and lush gardens, and the pool feels quiet and remote – like your own little private country club. You would never guess you were in the middle of a major city; it’s the perfect place to set up your own little outdoor office, or relax by the pool. The Backyard Burger (cheddar, aioli and fried pickles on a pretzel bun) was also top notch.
The Spectacular Suite:
This reasonably priced suite is such a treat for the price. It’s spacious, modern, and perfect for a work trip (Can you say room service?), with a nicely sized living and work area, separate bedroom, and luxe bathroom. We’re hooked.
