Breakfast Smoothie with Oats

From Dr. Daryl Gioffre

Ingredients:

¾ cup unsweetened coconut or almond milk

¼ cup coconut water

1 handful spinach

¼ cup gluten-free oats

1 banana, frozen

1 tbsp. raw almond butter

1 date

1 tbsp. hemp seeds

Directions:

Blend until smooth, adding more coconut milk or coconut water for thinner consistency.

    Your smoothies sound great except that I have nut allergies. What can I sub for almond butter?

    Thanks for the post Qamdiala – are you only allergic to almonds or ALL nuts. If it’s all nuts, then you can use coconut butter or sunflower butter (raw), and if it’s only almonds, you can try cashew butter as well. Please let me know if you have any other questions and enjoy the recipe!
