Stylist Kate Foley

Street style maven Kate Foley is nothing if not extremely chic. If you don’t know her name by now, it is definitely necessary you learn it, because the stylist and creative consultant is big on the fashion scene. We caught up with the British-born blonde recently to discuss her health and beauty regimen, go-to restaurants and favorite up-and-coming designers. Read through, and try not be too jealous of her effortless style — after all, she was generous enough to share information on the skincare products she uses, and the fashion items she is currently coveting…

From start to finish, what would be your ideal food day?

For breakfast, I’d go to Bakeri in Brooklyn and have the kasha which is a buckwheat, quinoa, flax seed, and almond milk bowl with a cup of Earl Grey or Lapsing Souchong tea. For lunch, I would go to Il Buco and have the kale salad and the tuna crudo. For dinner, I would go to 1 OR 8 and have the asparagus soup, the yellowtail ceviche, and tuna hamachi and pacific salmon sashimi, with a margarita maybe.

How do you always start your day? What’s your go-to breakfast?

Tea and either Dr. Flynn’s “tropical fever” granola with almond milk and berries or avocado, salmon, and tomatoes.

What’s your perfect smoothie comprised of?

Coconut water, banana, pineapple, ginger, mint and cinnamon.

How do you practice beauty from the inside out?

I’m training for a triathlon (Ironman) so I do a lot of running, biking and swimming as well as strength workouts with my trainer. I love pilates but haven’t had the time recently. I just try to approach food healthily but totally sensibly. I don’t cut anything out. As long as I’m healthy 85% of the time, I think that’s fine.

What are your morning and nightly beauty routines?

In the morning, I wash my face with Erno Laszlo’s white marble bar, the firmarine moisturizer with SPF of 30 and then I do my makeup. In the evening, I wash my face with Erno Laszlo’s sea mud bar and moisturize with Embryolisse.

The hair products you can’t live without…

I use Original & Mineral Silver Conquer blonde shampoo, Hydrate and Conquer conditioner, Know Knott detangler spray, and frizzy logic serum.

The item in your wardrobe you treasure most…

It always changes but right now I just bought an amazing vintage Oscar De Le Renta dress from the seventies, so I am pretty obsessed with that!

Five things you’re coveting right now…

Miu Miu natural colored summer sandals with crystals, a Suno lace cropped top, a Saint Laurent dress, a pair of cotton pajamas from Sleepy Jones, and the R1 swimming goggles from Roka in pink!

One item of clothing every woman should own….

The thing I find most useful in my wardrobe is a basic slip to wear underneath anything and everything.

A common error people make when they go shopping…

Feeling pressured and buying something they don’t truly feel comfortable in.

What are some tips for ‘shopping ones closet?’

I don’t know but if you find the answer let me know!

The designers to watch right now…

M. Martin, Kim Shui, Claudia Li, and Rejina Pyo.

The app you can’t live without and why…

Uber, because otherwise I’d be late for meetings all of the time.

Words to both dress and eat by…

Be happy.

In the same vein as ‘what is the new black’ what’s the new potato right now?

Rose water
