Artichokes are one of the oldest cultivated edible plants known to man and are higher in antioxidants than most other vegetables out there. They’re relatively low in calories (at about sixty per artichoke), and they are packed with potassium, protein, fiber, vitamin C, and magnesium. But the best part is that they minimize enlarged pores from sagging skin and helps to build collagen while activating moisture retention. Sagging pores are one of the key signs of aging, and by using this magic ingredient in the most concentrated ways possible, you can whip your gravity-loving pores for tighter, and smaller results. There are three ways to maximize artichokes for your skin from the inside out:
1. Get your DIY Artichoke Facial on
What you need:
– 1 fresh artichoke heart, well cooked, or canned hearts in water
– 2 tsp avocado or olive oil
– 1 tsp vinegar or fresh lemon juice
Mash artichoke heart in a bowl. Add in other ingredients and stir well until a rich paste is formed. Massage on face and neck in a circular and upward motion. Leave on skin for 10 to 15 minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water, and finish washing with icy cold water to tighten pores. You can enjoy this organic farm-to-face spa at home twice a week to see visible results!
2. Pat on a Powerful Artichoke Essence
