3 Mint Julep Recipes

May is just around the corner, which means we’re already planning our Kentucky Derby parties and scouting out the most dapper attire. What other occasion exists where we get to put on a fancy hat, place a bet, and do our best and worst southern accents, all while sipping on mint juleps?

This annual Southern tradition is – besides an excuse for us to drink during the day (don’t ya love those) –  a beacon of springand it also falls just a couple of days after Cinco de Mayo, (there’s a lot to celebrate in May). Mint Juleps are the quintessential Bluegrass beverage—the Scarlett O’Hara of cocktails, and the only acceptable drink on Derby Day. With quality bourbon, refreshing mint, and proper shaved ice (it’s all about the ice) – what’s not to love? You do not want to find yourself without one when May 7th rolls around, which is why we’ve taken it upon ourselves to share 3 of our favorite mint julep recipes. Check them out above, and drink them like the classy broad you are in life and your mind’s eye…

Not a fan of Bourbon? Why not try these champagne or vodka based cocktails instead.
