From start to finish what would be your ideal food day?

I am a big breakfast person. I like eggs and avocado, toasted bread with almond butter and jelly, and tea or orange juice. For lunch, a chicken salad with lots of veggies and I just may have fries on the side. I need a little unhealthy kick every now and then! For dinner, I would love Manti (a traditional Armenian dish) or a creamy soup.

What are your morning and nightly beauty regimens?

I use Murad Essential C Cleanser for both the day and night. In the mornings, my routine consists of Vitamin C Serum, La Mer Moisturizing Lotion and La Mer Illuminating Eye Lotion. Then I use Vitamin A in the evenings with Murad Essential C Night Moisture and Estée Lauder Night Repair Eye Cream. Two evenings a week I’ll also cleanse with Murad Skin Smoothing Polish.

What foods and drinks are best and worst for your skin?

The best are water, veggies, and fruits. The worst are greasy foods, too much sugar, and too much spice.

How do you practice beauty from the inside out?

I try to keep a healthier lifestyle, but to be honest, I am only good with it 75% of the time. It is hard to maintain when you have a busy lifestyle. I was working out with a trainer for two years, until my recent pregnancy. During the day, I do carry fruits and nuts around with me.

What’s your personal definition of a good online video?

Online videos need to be entertaining! Regardless of the subject, the voice needs to be loud, attention grabbing and not monotone. It also can’t be too long because people lose interest, but long enough to get your point across. Decent editing skills are necessary as is good lighting!

What’s your personal definition of a good Instagram?

Good content! When I click on someone’s Instagram, their top six pictures should grab my attention for me to “follow” them and want see more. Nothing repetitive either. If every picture looks the same, I lose interest.

What is a common makeup artist pitfall?

Getting too comfortable and letting competition affect you. Makeup artists should always outdo themselves only and never worry about competitors.

Words to apply makeup by…

Layer, layer, layer. Foundation? Layer. Eyeshadow? Layer. Mascara? Layer. This way, you get the fullest potential out of your products without it looking cakey, clumpy or too much.

Can you give us three tips for the perfect smoky eye?

You need three matte colors. A dark one (ex. black), a transitional one (ex. brown) and a highlight (ex. nude).

If you could apply makeup to any celebrity, who would it be?

Jennifer Lopez! She is every artist’s idol.

What are your favorite Los Angeles spots for drinking and eating? What do you order at each?

On the Thirty (conveniently next to my studio) in Sherman Oaks. Definite must order: Filet Sriracha Pizza, Amazeballs, Bacon Wrapped Dates and Mac & Cheese! I am not much of a drinker but I know they have a great selection of beers.

Beauty brands you love besides your own…

Benefit, The Balm, Tarte, Jouer, and so much more! As an artist, it’s hard to stay limited.

In the same vein as ‘what is the new black’ in fashion, what’s the new potato in beauty?

Bold lips are the new potato!
