Hand of God’s Julian Morris

We just love having dapper, debonair dudes on The New Potato, and British heartthrob Julian Morris is no exception. The actor has graced the sets of shows like Pretty Little Liars, New Girl and most recently Amazon’s Hand of God. We couldn’t think of a better way to kick off the week than to get his take on ideal meals, personal grooming, and what women don’t know about men…

From start to finish, what would be your ideal food day?

An exotic city, a creative chef, an exceptional bottle, and most importantly, great conversation.

What are your go-to workout routines?

I like to run outside.

Any grooming products you can’t live without? What are they?

My barber, Mira Chai Hyde.

What’s your idea of the perfect first date? Why?

I had a good one at Kew Gardens in London. I remember us laying down together on the grass in the sunshine.

What don’t women know about men? And visa versa?

The question assumes I know the unknowable.

What would your last meal be? Who would it be with?

A perfectly roasted chicken and potatoes with plenty of gravy – with my family.

What are your favorite London food spots?

Borough Market.

Do you cook? What do you like to make?

I have a Big Green Egg that I like to use, so I make smoked and slow-grilled meats mainly.

Best advice you’ve ever received…

“Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity. The grave will supply plenty of time for silence.” – Christopher Hitchens

How do you always start your day?

With the news, coffee, and my dog.

In the same vein as what is the new black in terms of fashion, what’s the new potato right now?

Hand of God on Amazon. I’m not even biased.
