A change in weather means many things, one being a two-week period where you keep forgetting lip balm, simultaneously realizing how chapped your lips are getting. There is a solution besides smothering on your quintessential Kiehls or Elizabeth Arden after the fact.
That solution is a hydrating mask for your mouth and what’s more: It’s one you can make homemade. We plugged our favorite facialist – Joanna Vargas – for a DIY lip mask made from edible ingredients. The best part is, you can use the extra coconut oil and honey for whatever recipe you’re cooking up Sunday night. 2 birds one stone? We think so.
1 Tsp of coconut oil – to restore the lipid layer to the skin and is also anti-inflammatory
1 Tbsp of honey – moisturizing and antibacterial
Massage on and around lips and leave on for 5 minutes.
