The Perfect Smokey Eye

We know a smokey eye is nothing new to the beauty scene, but after Sunday night’s Emmy Awards, we became addicts. The cause? Amy Schumer took up a few seconds of her acceptance speech (a notoriously rushed, anxiety inducing ritual at awards ceremonies) to say: “Thanks to the girl who gave me this sort of smoky eye. I really love it.” Enough said, right?

It’s hard to achieve the perfect smokey eye – almost as hard as getting the perfect red lip. You run the risk of looking like a raccoon (Let the record show we never mentioned Jenny Humphrey from Gossip Girl). We teamed up with beauty industry pioneer, Laura Geller, to create the perfect “sort of smokey eye” using two of her Delectables Baked Eye Shadow Palettes for two different effects.  The eye makeup is made in Italy and combines creamy primer with intense baked pigment for rich colors and long wear. We also couldn’t resist bringing our own baked delectables to the make-up shoot. Because who doesn’t want to nibble on berry galettes or chocolate caramel tarts whilst playing makeup artist? We’d like to think Amy Schumer, for one, would…
