The Pussycat Dolls’ Nicole Scherzinger

Remember The Pussycat Dolls? One of its leading ladies – Nicole Scherzinger – is back in a big way. Scherzinger stars on NBC’s new variety show I Can Do That, and has also been working on a new album. We caught up with the girl band phenom on beauty go-tos, workouts, pre and post-show routines and what got her into pepperoni…

From start to finish, what would be your ideal food day?

Something healthy to start, like six-minute boiled eggs, smoked salmon, bread and truffle salt. For lunch an arugula salad with vegetables and tuna or chicken. For dinner, I’d have sushi and a Muller Corner for dessert.

How do you practice beauty from the inside out?

For me it’s a combination of yoga, cardio and healthy eating. I also take time to reflect and relax, and keep a consistent beauty routine. Hydration and lots of rest are also important.

What are your morning and nightly beauty routines?

I use the Proactiv Plus skin treatments as part of my morning routine, then I just wash and moisturise.

What products are always in your bag?

Hand sanitizer and eyeliner.

Where do you love to travel? What won’t you travel without?

Europe! I recently visited Greece and Austria; they’re beautiful. I also spend a lot of time in the UK. I always carry my SPF tinted moisturizer when traveling, and a great pair of sunglasses.

Foods and drinks that make your skin glow…

Water with lemon, alkaline water or Harmless Harvest Coconut Water. I love it!

How do you always start your day?

With a prayer!

What was your most memorable performance on I Can Do That?

All of them in their own way, but the most dangerous was skating with the Skating Aratas.

Your go to warmups and snacks before and after performances…

I have my own sets of vocal warm-ups that I do, depending on what genre of music I’m singing. I tend to always have hot water with fresh ginger, manuka honey and a ton of squeezed lemon too.

Is the Variety Show the new potato? Why?

For sure! It’s the perfect cocktail of comedy, talent and entertainment.

What are your favorite cities for food? What restaurants do you go to in each?

New York has incredible food. I always head to Carbone and Tao. I love Sugarfish and Giorgio Baldi in LA and Zuma in London.

Advice you’d give your younger self…

Don’t be so hard on yourself and learn to love yourself.

You never liked X till you tried it at Y…

I never liked pepperoni until I accidentally tried it on a Swiss pizza.

In the same vein as ‘what is the new black’ in fashion what’s the new potato right now?

Coconut oil in your beauty regimen and cold press juices to drink.
