Simple syrup, seems high maintenance right? No potatoheads – it’s not! When you actually take the time to look into how to make it, and incorporate it into your cocktail or mocktail, you’ll realize you’ve discovered an amazing new drink ingredient for your repertoire. Here’s the quick way to do it…and you thought a mint julep was too complicated.
Traditional Simple Syrup
1 cup Water
1 cup Sugar
Directions:
In a small sauce pan, combine water and sugar. Bring to a boil, boiling until sugar is dissolved. Reduce to a simmer, simmer 1-2 minutes. Cool and use to sweeten tea, lemonade, cocktails, and other drinks!
Mint Simple Syrup
1 cup Water
1 cup Sugar
1 1/4 cup fresh Mint
Directions:
In a small sauce pan, combine water, sugar, and mint. Bring to a boil, boiling until sugar is dissolved. Reduce to a simmer, simmer 1-2 minutes. Strain out mint before using. Cool and use to sweeten tea, lemonade, cocktails, and other drinks!
Lemon Simple Syrup
1 cup Water
1 cup Sugar
Entire Peel from 1 Lemon, pith removed
Directions:
In a small sauce pan, combine water, sugar, and lemon peel. Bring to a boil, boiling until sugar is dissolved. Reduce to a simmer, simmer 1-2 minutes. Strain out mint before using. Cool and use to sweeten tea, lemonade, cocktails, and other drinks!
