Ingredients:
8-10 Apples, Quartered, seeds removed*
1/2 cup Sugar
1/4 cup Honey
3 whole Cinnamon Sticks
1 Whole Clove
2 ribbons of Orange Peel
2 teaspoons All Spice
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a large stock pot. Pour in enough cold water to cover the apples by 1/2″. Bring to a boil, boil uncovered for 35 minutes. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cover the pot with a lid, simmer for 2 hours.
Remove from the heat and let cool. Using a potato masher, mash the apples to release the extra flavor. Strain the mixture through a sieve so that all that remains is the liquid and all solids are removed. Store for jars for up to a week.
*This recipe can also be made in a crockpot. Place all ingredients in the pot and cook on low for 8 hours. Mash and strain after it is finished cooking in the crockpot.
