Jane The Virgin’s Yael Grobglas

She may play the villain on Jane The Virgin, but Yael Grobglas is one of those actresses we couldn’t help but plug for beauty advice. The Israeli actress dishes on morning and nightly beauty routines, her ideal food day and products she can’t live without…

From start to finish, what would be your ideal food day?

Well, if a day is all about food, it seems pretty ideal already! I would love to wake up to a nice breakfast at home consisting of oats with honey and fruit and a good cup of freshly ground coffee, followed by a nice lunch out with friends with as many small dishes as possible. I like trying new things, and to me it’s all about the company and variety of new experiences. Tea time, of course, in the afternoon with a cup of Mariage Frerres Marco Polo and a few small sandwiches. For dinner I don’t mind heading out for oysters or staying in for a dish of fish or seafood, salad, something with potatoes, and a glass of wine. And, of course, dessert!

How do you practice beauty from the inside out?

I am a firm believer in laughter and good food. As long as someone has a smile on their face, they are definitely beautiful.

What are your morning and nightly beauty regimens?

Face washing is a big one – preferably with Cetaphil’s gentle cleanser – as a way to wake up in the morning and definitely when coming home from work with lots of makeup on. Eucerin moisturizer with sunblock during the day, and a good night of sleep when possible.

A beauty mainstay that hasn’t changed since your teen years…

Painted toenails. Since my teens, they’ve been painted.

Five beauty products you can’t live without…

Cetaphil lotion, Eucerin moisturizer with sunblock, Aquaphor chapstick, Benefit blush and NARS tinted moisturizer.

Three beauty products we always will find in your purse..

Aquaphor chapstick, Lipstick and Carven perfume.

Best and worst foods/drinks for your skin and hair…

I always try and eat what makes me happy and it usually turns out to be pretty healthy. I love to cook at home. This makes it easy to only use the ingredients I like that also make me feel good.

Words to yourself upon looking in the mirror…

I hope I’m making sixteen-year-old me proud. And I need a tan.

Where do you go to pamper yourself?

When I feel like treating myself, I’ll go get a massage, or get my nails and hair done, which usually has a very positive effect on my week.

What is ‘the new potato’ in beauty?

Keeping it simple.
