Sunday is a day for self-care. It’s the one day of the week where you can relax and do something to benefit yourself. Go take that aerial yoga class you’ve been wanting to try, get a luxurious pedicure, or do an at-home DIY face mask.
This week we are trying the third option, which is why we are reposting our favorite homemade face mask from our favorite facialist Joanna Vargas. With ingredients like bananas, oatmeal and milk, this mask is good enough to eat, but avoid the urge, and apply it to your face instead. You’ll feel exfoliated and an rejuvenated in no time!
One organic banana
One cup cooked oatmeal
4 tbsp organic, whole milk
Mix all ingredients in a bowl, then simply apply with fingertips. The lactic acid from the milk is great for exfoliation, which brightens the skin right away. The banana is high in potassium, which is wonderful for your lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is what helps your skin clean itself and it provides nutrients to every cell in your body. So, it’s really important that it functions properly. Oatmeal has a calming effect to soothe the skin on contact. Leave on for 15 minutes, then rinse with tepid water for luminous, younger looking skin.
