There will definitely be a line at Casamento’s, but that’s expected at an iconic oyster restaurant that’s about to hit the century-old mark. The decor hasn’t changed since it first opened, so don’t expect much interior-wise. The small, no-frills space is designed for easy clean-up and fast turnover, so keep your focus on the food. Oysters are the heart and soul of Casamento’s, and you’d be foolish not to order its famous oyster loaf, which is essentially a sandwich made of buttered and toasted pan bread filled with a massive amounts of fried oysters, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and mayonnaise. If you’re more of a fresh shucked oyster lover, Casamento’s is known to be home to some of the best and most reasonably priced in NOLA.
