Cuisine:Bar. Price: $$. Location: .

This ancient, cozy tavern survived the Prohibition to become home to one of New Orleans most bustling social scenes. Initially built to be the office of an importing firm, the charming, two-story building later housed a coffee shop that happened to serve Absinthe. The bar was moved to an undercover warehouse during the Prohibition years, and was returned to its current home in 2004, where it now serves the famous Absinthe House Frappe.
