A line comprised of both locals and tourists alike always wraps around Mother’s Restaurant, a haven for comfort foods such as po’ boys, bread pudding, fried chicken and all-day breakfasts. The popular canteen is best known for its Ferdi Special, a po’ boy sandwich that combines baked ham, sliced roast beef, and what they call debris, which is essentially all the bits and pieces that have fallen off freshly carved roast.
