Café du Monde has survived on coffee and beignets alone for more than 140 years. Generously covered with powdered sugar, the square French-style doughnuts, as well as the famed café au lait, have made the cafe a landmark in New Orleans. If you can’t manage to fit the city into your schedule any time soon, fear not, because the café ships its famed beignet mix across the country.
