Revenge’s Karine Vanasse

It was the midseason premiere of Revenge last night, and while the internet blows up with obsessive recaps, we wanted to do just one thing: Catch up with the cool French-Canadian girl on it, obviously. The beautiful Karine Vanasse plays Margaux LeMarchal on the show, who runs one of the most powerful media companies in the world (seriously, we should have run this on #WCW). Turns out Vanasse loves aerial silks, a great coffee shop and wants a man who was in the Dead Poet’s Society…

Your ideal food day…

A bowl of rice and extremely fresh sashimi of various fish from the Tokyo Fish Market for breakfast, a soup at Olive and Gourmando in Montreal for lunch (and watch my cousin who is the barista there prepare coffee), and dinner at Osteria Mozza reading a script and eating their tripe dish with grilled buttered bread.

On your morning and nightly beauty routines…

My two musts are Marcelle BB Cleansing Milk at night and in the morning, and my Aquafolia Sunscreen.

On the perfect workout…

Aerial silks. I have to admit, when doing it I feel like an eight-year-old pretending to be in Cirque du Soleil. And I love it.

Your idea of the perfect first date…

Within the first thirty minutes, can the guy just tell me that he was part of the Dead Poets Society when he was a teenager?

On your favorite spots to travel…

Spending time in Los Angeles for work allowed me to discover places like Sequoia and Kings Canyons National Parks. Swimming in the Kern River and spending the night glamping (yes, I assume the word) at Sequoia High Sierra Camp is perfection.

Where to go for the perfect cup of coffee…

I truly love and admire the atmosphere certain coffee shops create. Go Get Em Tiger on Larchmont in LA is my absolute favorite. Their iced homemade almond milk latte is a real treat. While in Montreal, Pikolo Café is also a favorite of mine.On French style…

I am French Canadian and I know somewhere it’s part of my DNA, but it’s still a mystery to me most of the time. Although, when I look at Charlotte Gainsbourg and Léa Seydoux, it seems quite obvious.

On five things your coveting right now…

Seeing Christine And The Queens live, pumpkin pie sweetened with dates, a new and fun brand of lingerie, finally watching the entire seasons of Damages, and more cinnamon everywhere (Have you ever tried it on your salads? It’s surprisingly addictive!)

Favorite restaurants…

My absolute treat was to dine at Jiro’s restaurant in Tokyo. The whole experience…I still haven’t recovered. I also love the café at Merci in Paris (their butter!).

On what ‘the new potato’ is right now…

I feel like the uni food trend is about to be replaced…can we stop that from happening, please?
