Giorgia Tordini On The Best Vintage

While we so often like to model ourselves after the ‘chic french girl,’ it’s not every day we can sit down with a gorgeous Italian girl for her guide to all things New York. Giorgia Tordini is the subject of today’s Woman Crush Wednesday, but really she’s our crush (and everybody else’s) all year around. The creative consultant is a past designer and eternal street style star, and we like to think her guide to the big city will be of use to you (especially since after seeing the shoot you’ll want to do everything this woman does). Get ready, it’s an Italian girl in a New York world…

Your favorite place for…

The Perfect Coffee: At Sant Ambroeus, where I like to spend my afternoons on weekends.

The Perfect Pastry: La Bergamote, a French patisserie in Chelsea.

The most authentic Italian: Il Buco. Delicious and charming.

The best pasta: I can cook it for you, following my mum’s recipes!

Your favorite beauty products: My facial cream is Rose Day Cream from Dr. Hauschka, which I apply every morning, after I’ve refreshed my face with Acqua di Rose by Roberts that literally wakes me up. My makeup is mostly Chanel and YSL. As cleanser, I use Bioderma; it’s soap-free and perfect for sensitive skin. For my hair, I use the Leonor Greyl oil for dry hair, to apply during the night or to protect it from the sun.

A technology fix… Technology is a bit of a mystery to me, but when I moved to New York I understood it was necessary to learn…but still don’t have one.

Seeing a great show… Lincoln Center. It’s so incredibly fascinating at night.

Impulse buys: C.O. Bigelow apothecary, where everything suddenly appears to be indispensable.

The best accessories: Love Adorned on Mott Street. It’s the best for vintage jewelry, native american style fabrics and curious objects.

Shopping on a budget: Zara. It’s the best for basics and everyday wear.

Shopping without a budget: The Bergdorf Goodman shoe floor. It’s better to stay away…

Vintage: Narnia for the best selection of boho style pieces, Ellen to find really classic treasures, and Malin Landaeus for special one of a kind pieces.

Home decor… I love searching for mid-century-modern furniture at antique markets or in very high-end stores in the city. Some of my favorites are Todd Merrill, The Warehouse and Flair.

After Work Cocktails: At the top of the Standard Hotel. As I say, every time there is like the first time. Unbeatable view!

Getting the absolute best massage… Aire Ancient Baths in Tribeca. It’s a complete experience of relaxation and pleasure.

The Perfect Walk: Central Park in the fall, the best season in New York.

Memorable Evening in New York City: With my perfect group of friends at Paul’s Baby Grand.
