Amy Odell

What’s a typical lunch like at Cosmo?

I am usually either at Blue Ribbon Sushi around the corner from the Hearst Tower or I grab something at Café 57 (in Hearst Tower).

What are your favorite cities for food? What restaurants do you go to in each?

Austin is my favorite. I love Torchy’s Tacos, Fonda San Miguel, Manuel’s, El Chile Café y Cantina, El Alma Restaurant and Bar, and Amy’s Ice Creams.

What are your morning and nightly beauty routines?

Each morning and night I wash my face with face wash and moisturize with Clinique Moisture Surge (the pink kind) which I’m obsessed with. I also use the steam room at the gym as much as possible.

How do you practice beauty from the inside out?

I’m obsessed with fitness. I go to Equinox almost every day or, if it’s not too cold outside, I’ll run along the Hudson River downtown. An obsession with kale is also sort of a running joke in the Cosmopolitan.com office so any time we discover a new kale thing (new flavor of kale chip, kale muffin, kale whatever, really) we’re all over it.

Where are your favorite places to travel and what won’t you travel without?

Hawaii, Cape Cod, and generally anywhere with a gorgeous beach! I won’t travel without my luggage, purse, phone charger, Aquaphor…lots of things!

In the same vein as ‘what is the new black’ for fashion, what is the new potato of online media?

Well, they’re not particularly new, but I feel like the Business of Fashion is really making a huge impact right now. I don’t know anyone in the industry who doesn’t read it — it’s become very powerful in a short period of time, which is a very impressive feat.

Put the funniest word at the end of the sentence bra. (See?)
