It turns out that designer Jennifer Fisher’s office lunches are just as interesting and unique as her jewelry. Customizable to her colleague’s preferences, the tuna salad she created for us all in her studio was just the icing on a very delicious, bejeweled shoot that we can’t really get enough of.
From spine cuffs, to bandaid rings to bracelets that say things like “taken” (the engagement ring equivalent – coupled ladies wanting to be left alone at the bar take note), Fisher’s been creating pieces that satisfy all of our fancies. Her collection fits perfectly into the stacking and layering craze, and we always want to keep buying more. Not to mention that she’s both a designer and a chef? Our potato head radar is off the charts. Peruse the eye candy and get the inside scoop on all of Fisher’s routines…
Describe your ideal food day…
My ideal food day is eating very clean from start to finish, with a few small indulgences along the way. An amazing muddy Americano with steamed cream on the side is my favorite start to the day, followed by a simple egg omelette with greens and herbs. Lunch is kale salad or shrimp salad from The Mercer Kitchen – sometimes ordering both and sharing, because I cannot do without either. Dinner is a perfect steak (I’m currently in love with the Pastrami Steak from American Cut).
What’s your drink?
Tito’s straight up with a lemon twist. Or, if I’m at Mr. Chow, Tito’s straight up with a splash of lychee, no nut.
What would your last meal be?
A perfect rare steak with creamed spinach, potato gratin and the chocolate cake from Strip House.
How do you start your day on a good note?
By kissing my children.
What’s your splurge?
Where do you go for inspiration?
I walk the streets of New York and look up at the architecture.
What are your favorite places to travel to?
Turks & Caicos for romance; Bali for adventure; Mexico with my family.
What won’t you travel without?
My grandmother’s shiva. It is my talisman.
Your afternoon snack…
Almonds, or a gluten-free bar.
What’s always in your fridge?
Tons of fresh berries, always a composed chopped salad made daily for my husband (a la La Scala in Los Angeles) a few good cheeses, eggs, Rosé, Champagne and tons of vegetables to roast.
Your go-to recipe for eating in…
What trend do you consider overrated?
What trend are you loving?
What old Hollywood movie star wore jewelry best?
Obviously ET! [Elizabeth Taylor]
What current Hollywood movie star wears jewelry best?
If you could see anyone in your jewelry, who would it be? What piece would they wear?
Kate Moss – and she would have a personalized necklace to represent her life.
Your idea of the perfect engagement ring…
I am partial to my ring, as it is a very simple, three-stone, emerald cut setting. It’s timeless and clean.
What are your favorite cities for food? Where do you go in each?
In New York, it’s Mr. Chow (for Chinese), Rubirosa (for pizza), American Cut (for Steak), and ABC Kitchen (for New American). In Los Angeles Gjelina, Sugar Fish, and sunsets and Rosé at The Lobster (My best friend’s restaurant). In San Francisco, Kokkari (for Greek).
If you could host a dinner party, with any five people living or dead who would be there? What would you cook?
I would have all of my grandparents (all deceased) as well as my husband, and would cook an amazing Mexican feast. I would give anything to hear all of their stories about our family and history first hand.
