Josie Maran Cosmetics

Josie Maran does it all, with a successful modeling career as well as an amazing cosmetics line, Josie Maran Cosmetics, she’s one of those enviably productive tastemakers that we love. While we were hanging in Los Angeles, we stopped by the ever-so-popular Café Gratitude for smoothies and a shoot with Maran. What are we grateful for? Josie Maran photographing so well. We got the scoop on all her lifestyle tips, routines and splurges…

Describe your ideal food day…

A green juice for breakfast, a handful of roasted almonds and a latte mid-morning. Thai Curry for lunch, minus the Thai Iced Tea, which has too much caffeine, even for me! And for dinner, my favorite meal is one shared with family and friends. As long as the wine and conversation are great, the food will be too.

What would your last meal be?

If I were trying to sound like a good role model, I’d say a Kale Salad, but since I’m too honest for my own good, I’ll admit it would be Pizza.

How do you start your day on a good note?

Waking up to my gorgeous girls, Rumi and Indi, and my husband Ali, is an inspiring start to any day.

Can you describe your morning beauty routine?

Argan Oil, GoGo Mascara, sometimes a swipe of Argan Love Your Lips lipstick and I’m ready to go.

What catches your eye on every menu?

Anything from the ocean.

What’s your drink?

My husband is seriously into learning about (and drinking) wine these days, and I’m going there with him.

What are your favorite places to travel to?

My farm in Pennsylvania, especially when my family is waiting there for me. Before I had a husband and kids, my travel habits were far more exotic.

What won’t you travel without?

My 100% Pure Argan Oil.

Michael Pollan wrote all about the dependence of America on corn and the devastation it is doing to our land, health, and economy. This girl obviously has not read Pollan if she tries to paraphrase Pollan and then recommends eating corn on the cob. Completely lost my respect.
