Sure, it’s New York Fashion Week, but we all have to eat right? We teamed up with Glamour Magazine to shoot and chat with a few designers on how they’re eating their way through NYFW. First up: Rachel Comey. She’s got a weakness for chipwiches and has chocolate covered Goji berries in her fashion week survival bag…
How do your start your day during NYFW?
It begins early, making breakfast for my two kids and boyfriend. I have a big range of menu items that I offer – everything from homemade yogurt with jam from my friend’s preserves company, Saveur, to poached eggs on a frisee salad or buttermilk pancakes.
Your go-to spot for coffee between shows.
Street cart coffee works for me.
Your afternoon snack…
What do you eat during late night fashion week preps?
Takeout from Casa Adela [pictured here] in the East Village.
What’s always in your NYFW survival bag?
Perrier, chocolate covered goji berries, Trident gum.
Your go-to spot for a power lunch between shows…
Where do cocktails happen after your show? What will you be drinking?
For the first time, we will be in Brooklyn after the show, so it looks like the world is my oyster. I love all the bitter cocktails like anything with Campari or Aperol.
If any 5 people could come to the celebration after your runway show, who would they be? What would you eat/drink?
We often do a staff party after a show. Karaoke or something ridiculous. The food and booze should be care-free.
