Top Ten Travel Essentials

It’s August, you’re traveling, and we miss you. We’re sitting here in NYC – whether it be on the subway, on the street at 42nd, on the patch of grass we’re hoarding at Central Park – and we’re thinking of you. So today, we’ve decided to live vicariously and scavenge our site for the “Top Ten Travel Essentials”. It’s a roundup from the past year, as editors, models, restaurateurs and bloggers told us what they won’t jet-set without. We picked our favorite ten in hopes of willing ourselves somewhere exotic…and giving you ideas for your next much-needed vacation (if you’re not already on one). It’s summer in New York after all; you’re due for one.

1. Linda Rodin: Rodin Oil and earplugs

2. Chelsea Leyland: Lucas Papaw Ointment and Leilani Bishop Oils

3. Christene Barberich: A tiny spray bottle of Neal’s Yard Rose Water, a notebook, and my oversized black Margiela cardigan

4. Danielle and Jodie Snyder: iPhone, Dannijo jewelry, running shoes, camera and vitamins

5. Diane von Furstenberg: iPad, sunglasses, and a scarf

6. Leandra Medine: A Toothbrush

7. Hilary Rhoda: My music and my Estée Lauder Hydrationist cream

8. Dita Von Teese: Glamorous clothes…“For me, dressing up in kitsch and over-the-top outfits for my trips is half the fun.”

9. Ziggy Marley: Books…“I always carry books with me and I have a vast library. I never travel without my books.”

10. Rebecca Minkoff: Eye mask for the plane
