The Standard Grill, one of our Meatpacking District favorites, boasts a lively and intimate scene with a killer Roast Chicken for two. It’s adjacent bar – the Biergarten – is a welcome wing of The Standard Hotel – is where ex-frat guys go once they feel they’ve matured past gritty sports bars, and where ex-college girls go once they feel they’ve matured past, well, frat guys. Here, beer pong tables are replaced with actual ping pong tables and the aesthetic is that of an authentic German brewery. With long wood tables and appetizers (bernerwurst, weisswurst, geflugelwurst) you can’t pronounce, you may as well be cruising through Berlin during Oktoberfest. The open-air space is bustling in the spring and summer, and conveniently covered in the cold seasons, making it an all-year round go-to.
