MAKES 2 MILKSHAKES | INSPIRED BY THIS PINK LADY RECIPE FROM BON APPETIT
1 cup strawberries, hulled and quartered
2 Tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 ounces dark rum
1/2 ounce white wine vinegar, optional
1/2 pint vanilla ice cream of 4 big scoops
1/4 cup whipped cream
freshly ground black pepper
1. In a small bowl, combine the strawberries and sugar. Let sit about 30 minutes, until the juices have absorbed the sugar.
2. Pour the strawberry mixture into a blender. Add the rum and vinegar if using, then add the ice cream. Blend for about 15 seconds, until the mixture is smooth.
3. Divide the rumshake between two small glasses, top with the whipped cream and a twist of fresh black pepper. Enjoy!
