2 oz. Buffalo Trace Bourbon
1 oz. Meyer Lemon Fennel Syrup (recipe below)
1/2 oz. Fresh Lemon
5 dashes Vanilla Bitters
Shake and strain onto a large ice cube in an Old Fashioned glass. Garnish with a lemon wedge.
Meyer Lemon SyrupÂ
1 qt. Fresh Meyer Lemon Juice
1 qt. Sugar
10 oz Pineapple Juice
3 oz Amontillado Sherry
1/2 cup Ground Fennel Seed
1 oz. Vodka
Combine ingredients together, making sure that all the sugar is dissolved. Allow mixture to sit for 2-3 hours and strain fennel seeds through cheesecloth. Syrup will last up to 3 weeks.
