At The New Potato, aesthetic is very important to us – it’s one of the reasons we dedicated an entire section of our website to atmosphere. It made sense then, to sit down with interior design guru, Nate Berkus, for his favorite New York food haunts. Berkus is the definition of a self-made designer, starting his own firm – Nate Berkus Associates – at the age of 24, he quickly signed limelight clients like Wolfgang Puck’s Spaggo, W Hotels and Barneys, soon becoming a household name himself. It wasn’t long before he started doing makeovers on The Oprah Winfrey show, and his winning personality and acclaimed taste soon spiraled into a daytime talk show, The Nate Berkus Show. With a book under his belt (Home Rules: Transform the Place You Live into a Place You’ll Love) and an HSN product line, there seems to be no end to what we can expect from this tastemaker. Berkus may be giving us his new favorite spots, but he’s always been a timeless favorite of ours here at The New Potato.
